Why a basic IT security check?
Perhaps you have just taken over responsibility for IT in an organisation. Perhaps you are IT responsible in a public organization where there is great uncertainty in relation to whether the basics are in place? Perhaps you simply want the basic IT security principles and 'best practice' to be adhered to?
There can be many, and very good, reasons why you want to check whether the basic IT security is in place in your organisation. And there are many ways and framework tools to make such measurements. Unitas recommend CIS-18 as a starting point. One CIS-18 analysis is rather extensive, but is also for another, and larger, economy.
If you still want to make sure that the very elementary things are under control, it makes a lot of sense to have a basic IT security check carried out.
Unitas does not invent the deep dish if it already exists. In this case, the Center for Cyber Security, the Digital Agency and Sikkerdigital.dk have prepared a list of minimum requirements for state authorities' IT security. The 29 points in the list cover very well, regardless of whether you are a public or private organization that needs to have IT security checked. Therefore takes Unitas starting point in precisely the same list.
